Longonot is one of the most recent and youngest volcanoes in the world, it is one of one of the hottest vacation destinations from people from all over the world.


Mt Longonot is located 9108 ft above sea level and also offers a great view of beautiful scenery. From the heights of Mt. Longonot, individuals can be able to take in the beautiful features of the Great Rift Valley. Visitors to the Mt. Longonot National Park can visit throughout the year but the best time to visit is in the months of January to April and from September to December. There are various gaping craters that form V- shaped gorges. The whole area of Mt. Longonot National Park appears to be robbed of civilization making it a perfect getaway from the hustles and noise of big cities. Furthermore, tour guides are available to offer visitors guidance in the park. Visitors can also get good accommodation near and around the Mt. Longonot National Park. Currently there is no accommodation at the park but there is adequate accommodation along the Moi South Lake Road.


Naivasha town also offers adequate accommodation that is quite affordable as well. Visitors to the park can enjoy watching buffalos, gazelles, Impala and giraffe. Camping facilities are also available at the Olongoonot campsite. Visitors should remember to carry their cameras, binoculars, sunscreen, sunglasses and guide books while they visit the area. Picnic sites are also available for visitors and all the required facilities are usually available.
